mostly full

May 29, 2007

Is your glass half empty or half full? Liza captured this richly intense photo. Her glass is “mostly full”.
Lovely, Liza!

rusty step

Just when I think that Liza has documented every piece of beautiful rust in the world, she produces this image. Stunning, isn’t it?

Twilight

May 24, 2007

Twilight is my favorite time of day. Perhaps it is because of the special, soft light that makes every earthly thing appear mystical, magical or somehow surreal. Perhaps I like dusk just because it is such a fleeting time… lasting only a short time each day.

Each twilight has its own personality. Photographers know this, like my Liza. Recently she took the portrait of this stunning twilight sky as it announced the day’s ending and the beginning of night.

mossy rust

May 15, 2007

Many of you are aware of Liza’s fascination with rust. This image blew me away. The colors are amazing and are just as they were delivered by Liza’s Cannon. Really! I swear on the stack of updated Photoshop software about which I keep dreaming!

Thanks Liza.
Warm wishes until my next post.

lovely mud

May 15, 2007

This is not the surface of the moon.

Nor is it a close-up of another planet from some distant galaxy. It is just mud. Liza’s lovely mud. Dried up liquid earth, bejeweled with rocky gems.

Very calm and soothing, somehow. Almost glacier-like.

Mossy Stairs

May 9, 2007

Here’s something for the rust lovers AND the nature lovers.  Liza found this unused pathway during a recent photo clicking adventure around our town. She says she bets no one has even stepped on these mossy stairs in over 25 years.

Interesting to think about the rusty stair rail deteriorating, eventually sinking downward, while the moss is thriving, as if awaiting to encase it. If left undisturbed what would we see in another 25 years?

Where DOES she find these mysterious  photo novelties, bits of another time?

rusty nuts

Liza, love your rusty nuts photo. Terrific study in red and turquoise!
